Podcast and Article on Masjid Ar Rahman Coatesville – “The Chandelier of Coatesville, Pennsylvania” Features on Iqama Magazine

Iqama Magazine’ is a Detroit based quarterly publication dedicated to connecting and empowering the Muslim communities of the United States. The magazine carries an article about Masjid Ar Rahman, our community and our activities. The pictures of the chandelier in the article were contributed by our Br. Amer Suhail. You can listen to the interview at the below link. https://iqamamagazine.com/reclaiming-our-identity-our-podcast/

Here is an extract of the story: The Chandelier of Coatesville, Pennsylvania

Coatesville Pennsylvania is known as the home of the last functioning steel mill in the United States. A lesser known fact is that it is also home to an exact replica of an ornate chandelier that is found in the masjid of the prophet Mohammed PBUH in Medina. Living away from his home in India for the past 20 years, Mohammed Jamaluddin tells the story of how he has made Coatesville his home away from home. He also shares the story of his good friend, the late Abdul Aleem (Christian name Alexander Medley) and how his dream to build a mosque in Coatesville was fulfilled while he battled kidney failure on his way to perform Umrah as a part of his last wish.
The magazine also features other interesting articles in this edition like ‘The Other Ground Zero Masjid – The Assafa Islamic Center’ in New York, Masjid At-Tawheed – Faith, Service, and Advocacy! in the Great Rapids, and Inspiring the Muslim Youth of America- MY-ICD (Muslim Youth – Islamic Center of Detroit).

Leading Salat al Janaza – 1 hour Class on Saturday 8/6/2016 1.30 pm to 2.30 pm – Venue Masjid Ar Rahman, Coatesville

It is the right of the dead to be put to rest according to the Shariah and the duty of those living to ensure that happens correctly and in the quickest possible time.  Very often, when death occurs, we scramble for someone to lead the Janaza prayer and to teach the followers how to pray this important salah.  Especially in a country where most Masajid’s do not have a permanent Imam to attend to this important duty, it is necessary every believer knows how to lead a Janaza Prayer and how to pray one correctly.
Are you ready if it is your turn next time to lead the Janaza Prayer?
Please join us on Saturday 8/6/2016 at 1 pm for a 1 hour class on ‘Leading Salat al Janaza’ followed by Q & A.  This will be conducted in Masjid Ar Rahman, 723 Merchant Street, Coatesville on Saturday 8/6/2016 immediately after Zuhr Salah.   Sisters are welcome to attend as well.
Note: Please send us your topics for Teaching Our Community Series by email to info@masjidarrahman.org
