Christianity and Islam are the two largest religions in the world having estimated populations of 2.1 and 1.5 million adherents, respectively. These two great world religions have many similarities with each other. In fact, Islam is the only religion after Christianity that accepts the miraculous birth of Jesus (peace be upon him) and has a high level of respect for him and his mother, Mary – a virtuous and chaste women after whom a whole chapter of the Quran is titled (Chapter 19). There are also differences with respect to the status of Jesus (peace be upon him) and concept of God, as currently practiced.
